In a constant pursuit of uniqueness, battling the grounds of normality and pushing towards more of a striking visual experience, Billy Rood captured an altered version of reality. A transparent form of perception signaling an inevitable shift towards the senses. And what would better serve as departing point for an artistic manipulation of substantiality than an endless game of duality, of darkness versus light, entity versus semblance, clarity versus nebulosity? The futuristic twists holding an articulate tech flavor, might not resemble a series of misplaced puzzle pieces quite precisely, but they do point towards the subtle distortion of the illusory picture perfect.
The darkly romantic garments envisioned by L’wren Scott, Lanvin or Isabel Toledo exuded even more of that mysterious vibe as they were facing the light and minimal designs created by Rick Owens and Givenchy. An ultimate touch of luxury set to conclude the impeccable “drawing” of surrealism.
